During a visit to Beijing, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin failed to secure Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s support for the construction of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the publication, Moscow hoped to secure Beijing’s approval for a project that could supply up to 50 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to China annually. However, the negotiations failed to yield the Kremlin’s desired results.<\/p>\n

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that no specific agreements regarding the project’s implementation timeline have yet been reached. He stated that the parties had only discussed a common vision of the pipeline’s key parameters.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“There is a common understanding of the main parameters of the Power of Siberia-2,” Peskov said, adding that the route and construction principles have already been determined, but the technical details still need to be agreed upon.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Washington Post also notes that Russia is increasingly concerned about China’s role in supplying components for Ukrainian drones. Analysts believe that Chinese components have helped Ukraine significantly increase drone production over the past year.<\/p>\n

Earlier, during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin<\/a> stated that relations between Russia and China had allegedly reached an “unprecedented high level.”<\/p>\n
