After each Russian attack, Ukraine’s air defense forces remain half-empty, requiring constant replenishment with interceptor missiles and anti-ballistic missiles. Ukraine regularly informs international partners about the shortage of air defense missiles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced<\/a> by the head of the communications department , Yuriy Ignat,<\/span><\/span> on the air of the Novini.LIVE<\/span><\/span> TV channel.<\/p>\n

“We asked to close the sky with planes back in 2022 and give us systems, because we understood that it would not be easy to resist that Russian armada, their great capabilities. First we received Nasams systems, then Iris-T, then F-16s appeared… Then it was increased. We have entire batteries, divisions. There are more planes, but the issue of missiles is not removed,” Ignat said.<\/p>\n

According to him, the issue of providing Ukraine with interceptor missiles remains extremely acute.<\/p>\n

“Every year we say that we lack missiles. Because every year they attack us by the hundreds and hundreds,” Ignat noted.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that last winter, the Russian Federation launched 720 missiles at Ukraine. That is why the Air Force needs as many means as possible to destroy air targets.<\/p>\n

“If there were interceptor missiles, we could do anything. We could maneuver, we could fight endlessly, as they say. I would like it not to be endless… But we need to defend ourselves with something. Therefore, the messages that we talked about, that there really is a problem with missiles, are being communicated with partners,” Ignat added.<\/p>\n

In particular, the Ukrainian government is constantly in contact with international partners within the Ramstein<\/span><\/span> format and other closed negotiation groups regarding the provision of additional air defense assets to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“We repelled the attack – that’s it, the complexes are half empty. We need to replenish them with something, because the next attack could lead to the loss of one or another facility, missiles hitting houses, and so on. This issue is not closed. It is constant,” Yuriy Ignat emphasized.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that British<\/span><\/span> Defense Minister John Healy<\/span><\/span> instructed<\/a> to accelerate the supply of air defense systems and anti-drone equipment to Ukraine after the recent massive attacks by the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

Also in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine<\/span><\/span> is developing<\/a> a private air defense system, which has already been joined by 24 companies to protect facilities from Russian air attacks. Project participants undergo special training, and private units operate in coordination with the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
