A fire broke out at a local oil refinery in the Russian city of Syzran in the Samara region amid reports of a drone attack and the issuance of a “drone alert” warning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the Russian Telegram channel Astra.<\/p>\n

Local residents posted photos and videos on social media of thick smoke and open flames over the plant’s territory. According to preliminary reports, one of the oil processing units caught fire.<\/p>\n

Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev first announced the introduction of a “drone hazard” regime, and then declared a “Carpet” regime, which entails the closure of airspace.<\/p>\n

Later, the regional governor announced a drone attack on the region. According to him, the incident resulted in two deaths and two injuries. However, no official announcement was made about the fire at the oil refinery.<\/p>\n

The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Defense Forces, struck a military-industrial complex and several oil facilities in the Moscow region<\/a> , as well as the Belbek military airfield in Crimea.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported strikes on a number of facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region<\/a> , including an oil refinery, an oil depot, and a microelectronics production facility.<\/p>\n
