If Zelensky set out to shatter illusions, he succeeded amazingly.

Now I know exactly why between the statesman Doroshenko and the adventurer Sirko, Ukrainians chose Sirko. I understand why during the time of the state-builder Mazepa, Ukrainians joyfully ran under the banners of Palii and Petryk. And later – Tsar Peter. I understand why between the reformer Skoropadsky and the populist Petliura, Ukrainians chose Petliura. And there was also the anarchist and Bolshevik ally Makhno.

I have seen how indomitable free and independent Ukrainian journalists are made obedient and cheap. I have seen how, under good intentions, a monopoly on television is created in Ukraine. How political parties all massively and joyfully obey the command “Get down!”

A series without a happy ending: did Zelenskyy’s election promises come true?

Everyone except the powder kegs. Fortunately, for every 73% in Ukraine, there are still 25%. For this, we are being harassed by Moscow’s henchmen, and I, a 14-year-old volunteer, am being taught patriotism by a monster who then shouted that “the Armed Forces of Ukraine are shelling peaceful neighborhoods.”

And all this is in the order of things.

No, gentlemen. Historians need to study the upcoming period of Zelensky’s presidency minute by minute. To gain an understanding of who they are, real Ukrainians. Not pretty fairy tales about “a cherry orchard around the house,” but reality. Smelly and ugly.

Because we cannot make a country successful if we do not know our own people. If we do not know how easily our people are ready to give up their freedoms and rights, for the sake of… For the sake of a beautiful fairy tale.

Because open President Zelenskyy’s program and tell yourself – was it realistic to implement?

What’s the Difference?’: A Convenient Shortcut to Unfreedom

Remember that Putin and Trump are to blame for all of Ukraine’s problems. Anyone but…

Oh, and Poroshenko is to blame, of course. Where would we be without him?

Recently I was driving along one of the central Ukrainian highways. At the edge of the highway is a huge sign about “Great Construction” and that the highway is being repaired as part of the program. The road was just being patched after the winter – using the pothole repair method. Along this road, muttering obscenities, 73% of those who made Zelenskyy the president drove.

This picture seemed to me the most eloquent symbol of the presidency of the European Union.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

• Materials published in the “OPINIONS” section reflect the opinion of the author of the publication, who bears full responsibility for the accuracy of the information.
• The editorial staff of prm.ua may not share the opinions expressed in the author’s material.
• The owner of the webpage in the “OPINIONS” section is the author of the publication.

Source: Author’s Facebook page Thanks to Zelensky, I learned an incredible amount about the nation I belong to.
