US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia to end the war are currently “on hold.” Washington allows them to resume if the talks are productive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Sweden, Marco Rubio stated that the United States joined the negotiation process because it was the only party with which both Ukraine and Russia agreed to negotiate.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, these negotiations did not yield results. We are ready to continue to fulfill this role. Despite false information leaks, despite stories that we are forcing Ukrainians to take this or that position, which is not true,” said Marco Rubio.<\/p>\n

According to the US Secretary of State, such negotiations are not currently underway. At the same time, Washington is ready to return to meetings if there is an opportunity to organize a negotiation process that can bring results.<\/p>\n

“Over the last few months, we’ve felt like there hasn’t been much progress, but maybe the dynamic will change. We’re also not interested in getting caught up in an endless cycle of meetings that lead nowhere,” Marco Rubio said.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that the war in Ukraine can only end through a negotiated settlement, not a military victory by one of the sides.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the United States is ready to facilitate a diplomatic end to Russia’s war against Ukraine<\/a> and hopes for the resumption of the negotiation process between the parties.<\/p>\n

The day before, Ukrainian President VolodymyrZelenskyy declared his readiness to hold trilateral talks with the participation of the United States and Russia<\/a> on the territory of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n

As “Pryamiy” reported, the day before, Ukraine announced its readiness to hold a meeting at the highest level with Russia<\/a> with the participation of international partners. This is a format of negotiations involving the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and, probably, the United States.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Kremlin announced “positive” dynamics for Russian troops at the front and linked it to the further progress of negotiations regarding the war.<\/a><\/p>\n
