PrivatBank won an appeal in London against its former owners, Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov. They will recover the stolen $3 billion. Assets are also to be recovered in favor of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bank lost more; a Kroll investigation reported $5.5 billion \u2013 but apparently the rest was lost due to the \u201cbrilliant\u201d management of the previous owners\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026Now appreciate the tragic irony.<\/p>\n

In an attempt to regain control of the bank, its associated schemes, and overall influence in the country, Kolomoisky’s community invested in Zelensky’s campaign.<\/p>\n

1+1, a joint venture between Kolomoisky and the Medvedchuk family, as the media knows, day and night hammered a sickeningly simple scheme into the heads of Ukrainians:<\/p>\n

– news: everything is bad, bad, bad, borscht set, corruption, everything is bad<\/p>\n

– 24\/7 quarterly programs: giggi Poroshenko giggi Parubiy giggi Tomos-thermos giggi decommunization March 8<\/p>\n

– in the evening \u2013 the fairy tale \u201cServant of the People\u201d about a simple and honest guy…<\/p>\n

It worked. It reached 80% of the audience, supported by other oligarchs’ channels and the media projects of Medvedchuk and other pro-Russian figures. This created a myth that Ukrainians believed in\u2014because they wanted to believe that Van is simple, that wizards exist, and that all problems can be solved with a simple wish.<\/p>\n

“Field of Miracles” on a national scale.<\/p>\n

Kolomoisky gave interviews in 2019. About reconciliation with Russia. About correcting the imbalances of Ukrainization. About the “civil war”…<\/p>\n

The return of the bank seemed to Kolomoisky to be a done deal.<\/p>\n

But Kolomoisky, in starting his campaign of revenge, was wrong to forget world history and the classics.<\/p>\n

For everything turned against him. After all, a country and a state are more than just a debt of gratitude for bringing someone to power.<\/p>\n

The bank remained state-owned. Corporate governance was retained. And to prevent court red tape, a separate law was passed.<\/p>\n

\u201cPope Carlo overestimated the obedience of the apostates,\u201d as they wrote at the time.<\/p>\n

And it gets worse. Kolomoisky is in custody. His sentence keeps getting extended.<\/p>\n

And so \u2013 a legal defeat and the need to compensate 3 billion. And on the horizon, there are still possible questions from the American Themis, including the state of Delaware…<\/p>\n

In many ways, the business model that originated in the 1990s failed. It wasn’t “invest-earn-invest,” but “grab-take-cheat.”<\/p>\n

The first model is resilient, capable of withstanding more than 100 fake \u201ccases\u201d and even \u201csanctions,\u201d as Poroshenko\u2019s experience demonstrates.<\/p>\n

The second one must become a thing of the past, along with all the accompanying material.<\/p>\n

By the way.<\/p>\n

In 2021, an international consortium of investigative journalists published a collection of offshore documents \u2013 the Pandora Papers.<\/p>\n

Among other things, it talks about the transfer of Kolomoisky\u2019s structures to structures associated with Zelensky and a number of other figures in the current government (albeit already \u201cworked out\u201d).<\/p>\n

Therefore, in the context of the return to the state of the funds withdrawn by Kolomoisky, this story will probably also expire.<\/p>\n

The millstones of history grind slowly but inexorably. And, as Kolomoisky himself liked to say, “at the exit is the cash register.” It’s time to pay.<\/p>\n

The UK Court of Appeal has rejected an appeal<\/a> by former owners Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov against the previous ruling of the High Court of England and Wales regarding PrivatBank.<\/p>\n

The UK Supreme Court previously confirmed that<\/a> the nationalization of PrivatBank was the right decision.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, PrivatBank won a case in an English court against its former owners<\/a> , Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov. The decision was confirmed by the bank’s press service.<\/p>\n

Previously, based on Kolomoisky’s statements, four more cases were opened<\/a> against Poroshenko over PrivatBank.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
