Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is likely preparing a strike on Ukrainian territory using the Oreshnik missile. The Ukrainian side is checking intelligence data received from American and European partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He wrote about this in Telegram<\/a> .<\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, Ukrainian intelligence received information about Russia preparing a strike using the Oreshnik medium-range hypersonic ballistic missile.<\/p>\n

“There was a report from our intelligence: we received data, including from American and European partners, about the Russians preparing a strike using the Oreshnik. We are checking this information,” the president said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also stated that Ukraine is detecting signs of preparations for a combined strike on the territory of the country, in particular on Kyiv, using various types of weapons, including medium-range missiles.<\/p>\n

In this regard, Zelenskyy called on citizens to carefully respond to air alarm signals, starting from the evening of May 23.<\/p>\n

“Russian madness is truly boundless, so please save your lives – use shelters,” he stressed.<\/p>\n

The President noted that Ukraine draws the attention of partners in the United States and Europe to the danger of using such weapons and the risks of further prolonging the war.<\/p>\n

“If Russia is allowed to destroy life on such a scale, then no agreement will deter other similar regimes based on hatred from aggression and strikes. We are counting on the world’s reaction and that the reaction will not be post-facto, but preventive – we must put pressure on Moscow so that they do not expand the war,” Zelensky said.<\/p>\n

The president also announced that Ukraine is strengthening air defense and preparing a response to possible Russian strikes.<\/p>\n

” We gave permission for the parade, but there is no permission for madness in Russia<\/strong> . This war must be ended – peace is needed, not some missiles to satisfy the sick ambitions of one person,” the head of state concluded.<\/p>\n

It is worth recalling that the Oreshnik is a medium-range ballistic missile that can hit targets at a distance of up to 5,500 kilometers<\/strong> and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that during the Oreshnik missile strike on Lviv, the Lviv State Aviation Repair Plant was targeted.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, Russia has only 3-4 medium-range ballistic missiles of the Oreshnik type<\/a> . Moscow plans to launch these missiles into mass production as early as 2026.<\/p>\n
