F-16 fighters performed well in repelling a massive Russian air attack on the night of May 24.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/span><\/span> , Yuriy Ignat<\/span><\/span> , announced this on air during the telethon.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, during the attack, Russian forces used 90 missiles of various types, and Ukrainian air defenses engaged targets at various stages of flight.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“Today we see 90 missiles. How can we stop them with the limited resources we have today? And not so much the resources themselves, but the missiles for them, because that’s extremely important. Therefore, in addition to intercepting them, we shot down the missiles at various stages of flight, and as soon as they entered, F-16s were deployed. But again, they didn’t stop them, but they still said they would, but again, they didn’t work, but they did stop them, and the F-16s were deployed. Ignatius.”<\/p>\n

At the same time, an Air Force spokesman noted Ukraine’s critical need to increase its stockpile of PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems.<\/p>\n

According to Ignat, these missiles are capable of effectively intercepting ballistic targets, which Russia actively uses in massive attacks.<\/p>\n

“There’s a lot of ballistics today: three dozen Iskander-M or S-400 missiles, as well as Tsirkon and Kinzhal missiles\u2014all of this can only be shot down by the Patriot system and PAC-3 missiles. The issue of the Patriot systems and their missiles has been raised repeatedly on air, and government leaders are talking about it.”<\/p>\n

As is known, on the night of May 24, Russian troops launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine<\/a> , using missiles and kamikaze drones. Kyiv suffered the most destruction<\/a> , with damage and fires reported throughout the capital.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, as a result of a Russian Oreshnik missile strike on Bila Tserkva<\/a> in the Kyiv region, three garages were damaged.<\/p>\n
