After the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on May 24, Ukraine initiated an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council. The Ukrainian side also requested a joint meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and the OSCE Permanent Council.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga.<\/p>\n

According to him, after Russia’s night attack, Ukraine immediately appealed to international organizations with a request to hold urgent meetings.<\/p>\n

Sibiga added that he instructed Ukrainian missions to international organizations to make maximum use of multilateral mechanisms in response to the Russian missile strike on Kyiv.<\/p>\n

The minister emphasized that the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, and UNESCO must give a decisive response to Russia, which, according to him, is trying to compensate for the lack of success on the front with terror against the civilian population.<\/p>\n

Sibiga stated that Russia is attacking civilian infrastructure and destroying residential buildings, schools, museums, and critical infrastructure facilities.<\/p>\n

“This situation requires a strong and coordinated response from the international community,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Minister also called on international partners to take decisive joint action to deter Russia and achieve a just and lasting peace.<\/p>\n
