The Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia\u2019s Samara region has temporarily halted operations following a reported Ukrainian drone attack, according to local sources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the agency, the strike occurred on May 21. A Ukrainian drone attacked one of the primary oil processing units at the enterprise.<\/p>\n

After the attack, the plant shut down the CDU-6 unit, which provides over 70% of the refinery’s production capacity.<\/p>\n

According to estimates from international agencies, restoring the enterprise’s operations may take more than a month.<\/p>\n

Rosneft, which owns the plant, has not yet officially commented on the situation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Syzran Refinery is located in the Samara Oblast on the Volga River. The plant’s design capacity is about 8.5 million tons of oil per year.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the plant processed 4.3 million tons of crude oil. The enterprise produced 1.5 million tons of diesel fuel, 800 thousand tons of gasoline, and 700 thousand tons of fuel oil.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, explosions were heard in the area of the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara region of Russia at night<\/a> . After that, local residents reported a fire and thick smoke near the plant.<\/p>\n

As reported, on the night of Wednesday, May 20, drones attacked the city of Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol Territory of Russia.<\/a> The strike likely hit the Nevinnomyssk Azot chemical plant, causing a fire in the industrial zone.<\/p>\n
