Russian dictator Vladimir Putin<\/span><\/span> has signed a new law significantly expanding the Kremlin\u2019s authority to deploy Russian troops beyond the country\u2019s borders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new document allows the use of Russian troops abroad under the pretext of “protecting Russian citizens.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In particular, the law provides for the possibility of using the army in cases where Russians outside the country are allegedly “persecuted,” “detained,” or arrested.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The document also mentions decisions of international courts and bodies that Russia does not recognize.<\/p>\n

Corresponding amendments were made to the laws “On Citizenship” and “On Defense.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before signing, the law was approved by the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
