The Verkhovna Rada did not support draft law No. 12360, which provided for changes to the taxation of international parcels.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The document proposed to cancel the current privileges for duty-free and tax-free import of international parcels worth up to 150 euros.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Zheleznyak, the key amendment did not receive the required number of votes – it was supported by only 205 people’s deputies out of the required 226.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The parliament also did not support the remaining amendments to the bill.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“They couldn’t even send Bill 12360 for a second reading. That’s it – the government has to introduce a new one,” Zheleznyak wrote.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Thus, the current rules regarding duty-free import of international parcels remain unchanged for the time being.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Recall that the International Monetary Fund insists that Ukraine introduce a value-added tax on parcels from abroad worth up to 150 euros.<\/a> <\/p>\n
