In Kyiv, police reported suspicions to a man who, while intoxicated, fired a gun in the courtyard of a residential building and frightened residents of high-rise buildings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The incident occurred in the Dnipro district of the capital on Hnata Khotkevych Street – local residents heard shots and called law enforcement.<\/p>\n

“The Dnipro Police Department in Kyiv received a report from residents of a high-rise building that shots could be heard on the street,” the police said.<\/p>\n

An investigative and operational group and patrol officers quickly arrived at the scene. As law enforcement officers established, the 39-year-old man was in the company of friends and decided to show them his weapon.<\/p>\n

“While intoxicated, the man pulled out a gun and fired two shots in the air, frightening the residents of the house,” police said.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers detained the offender and seized a device for shooting rubber bullets. It was sent for examination.<\/p>\n

The man was charged under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). The police note that the sanction of the article provides for up to five years of restriction of liberty.<\/p>\n
