The president held a series of brief meetings with the leaders of parliamentary factions and groups, indicating a change in the tactics of governing the state. However, this process is a belated return to the democratic logic of checks and balances.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This opinion was expressed<\/a> on the air of “Pryamoy” by lawyer and analyst Andriy Vigirinsky.<\/p>\n

He explained that previously the head of state could afford to ignore other political forces, relying on his own faction. However, currently the monomajority is not able to provide 226 votes on its own, which requires building a consensus in the legislative body.<\/p>\n

“The incentive mechanisms have stopped working. If earlier it was possible to talk about pressure or a vertical that is built around the capabilities of the Office of the President, now these tools are no longer available,” Vigirinsky noted. In his opinion, the situation forces the authorities to seek understanding even with those whose views were previously ignored.<\/p>\n
