The UN has published an annual report on sexual violence in armed conflict, in which for the first time Russian and Israeli troops were included in the so-called “blacklist”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a list of organizations and units suspected of involvement in sexual violence during military operations. In total, the list includes 77 structures from different countries.<\/p>\n

The document notes that the number of recorded cases of such violence in 2025 increased compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n

Regarding Russia, the report details sexual violence against prisoners of war and civilians during the war against Ukraine. It also notes that UN investigators were restricted from accessing sites and victims, but were able to verify hundreds of cases, mostly involving men.<\/p>\n

In Israel, the reason for the listing was allegations of the treatment of Palestinian detainees, allegations that the country’s authorities deny.<\/p>\n

The UN Secretary-General previously warned both sides of possible inclusion on the list if the situation does not change.<\/p>\n

After the report was published, representatives of Russia and Israel criticized the decision and expressed disagreement with such conclusions.<\/p>\n
