The United States has cut funding for programs investigating Russian war crimes in Ukraine, weakening international efforts to document attacks on civilians, torture, and child abductions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to journalists, the administration of US President Donald Trump has cut tens of millions of dollars in funding for programs related to the investigation of Russian war crimes as part of foreign aid cuts. This includes support for organizations that document attacks on civilians, cases of torture and child abductions in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Journalists note that the United States has historically supported international accountability for war crimes, but some of these programs have been scaled back or suspended.<\/p>\n

Due to funding cuts, Ukrainian and international organizations are forced to reduce staff, suspend archival projects, and limit evidence collection.<\/p>\n

Some programs that were previously funded by the US have ceased operations or lost support, which, according to investigators, makes it more difficult for victims to access justice.<\/p>\n
