Romania has determined that a drone that crashed and hit a residential building in the city of Galati is of Russian origin. The conclusion was made based on the results of a technical investigation by state specialists.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> Romanian President Nikosor Dan.<\/p>\n

According to the technical report, the drone’s wreckage contained the marking “GERAN-2” in Cyrillic letters, indicating its Russian origin.<\/p>\n

Experts also found that the electronic components, navigation systems, control modules, engine, and structural elements match other drones of this type that have previously been found in Romania.<\/p>\n

It is separately noted that the production markings, technical specifications, and materials used correspond to the Geran-2 series of drones, which were previously identified as being manufactured in the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

Chemical analyses confirmed the use of the same types of materials and fuel that have already been recorded in drones of this type.<\/p>\n

The investigation also found that the drone crash in Galati resulted in damage to a residential building and injuries among civilians.<\/p>\n

The Romanian side stated that the results of the investigation will be shared with allies in NATO and the European Union<\/strong> .<\/p>\n
