In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a driver who opened fire during a traffic conflict in the Obolonskyi district of the capital. As a result of the incident, a 41-year-old man received a gunshot wound, and the suspect faces up to 7 years in prison.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Obolon Police Department received a report of shooting on the road, as a result of which one of the participants in the conflict was injured. After receiving the information, a special police operation was launched in the capital and all police units were directed to search for the suspect.<\/p>\n

The operatives, together with criminal analysis analysts, identified the alleged perpetrator. He turned out to be a Kyiv resident, whom law enforcement officers found at a dacha in the Kyiv region, where he was hiding.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, a dispute arose between the drivers over the priority of traffic on the road. During the conflict, the man took out a gun and shot three times at the 41-year-old driver, after which he left the scene.<\/p>\n

One of the bullets hit the victim in the stomach. The man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

With the support of the KORD special unit, law enforcement officers searched the suspect’s apartment and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the investigation, the pistol was seized.<\/p>\n

Investigators under the procedural guidance of the Obolon District Prosecutor’s Office informed the detainee of suspicion of hooliganism with the use of an object specially adapted for inflicting bodily harm. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years<\/strong> .<\/p>\n
