In the Lviv region, a man ensured the construction of a facility on the Lviv-Krakowets national highway using funds intended for other needs of the road industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the National Police.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the project involves the construction of a parking lot for large vehicles near a transport artery and access infrastructure to it.<\/p>\n

Funds for the construction of the facility were used from the state program for operational maintenance of highways.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers established that an agreement was concluded for the arrangement of a roadside base, a site for storing deicing materials, and access roads on the national highway M-10 Lviv – Krakovets.<\/p>\n

The contractor was paid UAH 94 million.<\/p>\n

However, the work performed is related to the construction of new facilities and should have been financed under separate budget programs. Instead, funds earmarked for the ongoing operational maintenance of state-important highways were used for the construction of the parking lot.<\/p>\n

The official knew that the implementation of such work was not provided for in the budget program.<\/p>\n

In addition, the project envisaged the construction of asphalt concrete pavement on an area of over 16,000 square meters.<\/p>\n

It later became clear that such work was unnecessary, although it significantly increased the cost of budget funds.<\/p>\n

Based on the collected evidence, the suspect is charged under Part 2 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misuse of budget funds). The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n

Earlier, “Pryamiy” reported that police in Dnipro detained a man<\/a> suspected of murdering an 11-year-old boy. The child’s body was discovered during search operations after his disappearance.<\/p>\n

NABU and SAPO also exposed an official of the State Border Service of Ukraine<\/a> and the owner of a private drone manufacturing company for extorting $1 million in illegal profits for the supply of drones. According to the investigation, the funds were demanded for the smooth conclusion of the contract and acceptance of the equipment.<\/p>\n
