Despite intensifying assault operations, Russian forces captured just 14 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in May \u2014 the slowest monthly advance in the past three years. According to analysts, May was the worst month for the Russian army in terms of territorial gains since October 2023, when the occupiers launched a large-scale offensive in several directions at once.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the number of assaults by the Russian Federation increased by 37.5%. In one month, Russian troops carried out more than 7,000 attacks, but this did not bring them significant results on the front.<\/p>\n

DeepState noted that May was the first month since the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive when the balance of change on the front turned in favor of Ukraine. At the same time, analysts recalled that data on the progress of the Defense Forces is published with a certain delay due to security restrictions.<\/p>\n

According to the project’s assessment, Russian troops are increasingly attacking in small groups or even individually. However, Ukrainian units have significantly improved their response to such infiltration attempts, making it increasingly difficult for the occupiers to gain a foothold in new positions.<\/p>\n

Analysts also highlighted personnel changes in the Ukrainian military leadership, which, in their view, are positively affecting the situation on the front.<\/p>\n

At the same time, DeepState warned that the situation in the Kostyantynivka area remains difficult. According to the project’s assessment, the prospects for this area currently remain unfavorable.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are increasing medium-range strikes on Russian logistics<\/a> in the occupied territories from the Luhansk region to Crimea.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the American television channel CNN published a report on the combat work of units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, which carry out long-range drone strikes on the territory of Russia<\/a>. The material showed the tactics of using drones, priority targets, and technological solutions used by the Ukrainian military.<\/p>\n
