Russian propaganda resources are distributing videos of Russian servicemen returned from captivity, accusing the Ukrainian side of cruel treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Center for Countering Disinformation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The CPR noted that in the video, former Russian prisoners of war talk about alleged beatings, threats, and being forced to record statements while in captivity. However, the authors of the publications do not provide any independent evidence to support these claims.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Center emphasizes that such messages are part of another information campaign aimed at discrediting the Defense Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the CPD, the Kremlin regularly uses the testimony of Russian military personnel to promote narratives about alleged “atrocities” by the Ukrainian side and to form a distorted picture of the war.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, international organizations have repeatedly documented the facts of cruel treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russia.<\/p>\n

As noted in the Center, according to the head of the secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Bohdan Okhrimenko, Russia handed over to Ukraine the bodies of 375 prisoners with signs of torture, exhaustion, and lack of medical care.<\/p>\n

The CPD believes that with such informational intrusions, Russian propaganda is trying to divert attention from the numerous war crimes of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
