To protect Odessa and other coastal cities from Russian drones, they are considering creating a network of sea platforms that will be able to intercept targets even over the Black Sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project is being developed by an American company, BlueShadow, founded by former US Navy submarine commander Charles Maher. The development is already being discussed with the Ukrainian military.<\/p>\n

The idea is to deploy autonomous maritime platforms along the coast, equipped with target detection devices, missiles and interceptor drones.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the developers’ plan, the system should shoot down Russian drones while still over the sea, preventing them from reaching Odessa and other Ukrainian cities.<\/p>\n

Maher said that in the future, the system could consist of four squadrons of 12 drones, operating about 10 to 12 kilometers from the coast.<\/p>\n

The first such squadron is planned to be deployed in early 2027.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the developers, the project is designed to help Ukraine counter Russian drones that regularly fly over the Black Sea and attack the southern regions of the country. <\/p>\n
