The final vote on the document is expected to take place in the near future.

The bill provides Ukraine with $1.3 billion in security assistance, as well as up to $8 billion in additional support in the form of loans. It also proposes to extend the Lend-Lease program until 2028 and allocate $300 million in military assistance in 2026 and 2027.

A separate section of the document concerns increased pressure on Moscow. In particular, it concerns new sanctions against the Russian oil sector and the introduction of 500% tariffs on a number of goods from Russia.

“The House of Representatives has cleared the way for a final vote on a bill on aid to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia,” the publication notes.

The document was brought to consideration through the discharge petition procedure, which allows a bill to be put to a vote even without the support of the leadership of the House of Representatives. To do this, it was necessary to collect at least 218 signatures of congressmen.

The signature of Congressman Kevin Kaley was decisive, after which lawmakers were able to begin formal consideration of the initiative.

As a reminder, the United States may soon announce the allocation of $400 million in military aid to Ukraine , which was previously approved by Congress but was delayed due to internal procedures at the Pentagon.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

The US is close to approving a new $1.3 billion military aid package for Ukraine and imposing additional sanctions against Russia.
