The Lebanese Hezbollah group has criticized the ceasefire agreement that Lebanon and Israel agreed to the day before. The leader of the organization, Naim Qassem, said that he does not support these agreements and called on the country’s authorities to abandon negotiations with Israel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> dpa.<\/p>\n

In his address, Qassem called the agreement unacceptable for Lebanon and accused the authorities of making concessions to Israel.<\/p>\n

“The announced agreement is a roadmap for the destruction of part of the Lebanese people and the enslavement of the rest,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Hezbollah leader also called direct talks between Lebanon and Israel a “farce” and a “humiliation.”<\/p>\n

According to him, the group does not plan to stop armed resistance and will continue fighting as long as Israeli strikes on Lebanon continue.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Qassem stated that Hezbollah is ready to support a ceasefire, but only on the condition of a complete cessation of Israeli attacks, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory, the return of displaced residents, and the restoration of destroyed infrastructure.<\/p>\n

For its part, Israel previously stated that it was striking Hezbollah targets in response to the group’s attacks on Israeli settlements near the border.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reportedly resigned<\/a> , citing the excessive influence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the government.<\/p>\n

It was also reported that the US and Iran may soon agree on a basic agreement<\/a> that should stop tensions in the region and open the way to full-fledged negotiations on the nuclear program. <\/p>\n
