President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has published<\/a> an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In it, he called on the Russian leader to end the war and offered to hold a personal meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the letter, Zelensky stated that the war against Ukraine was Putin’s personal choice and that over the years of full-scale invasion, it had not brought Russia the results the Kremlin had hoped for.<\/p>\n

The President of Ukraine mentioned the losses of the Russian army, sanctions, economic problems, and growing discontent with the war within Russia itself.<\/p>\n

“Enough of the war. Ukraine proposes to end this war,” Zelensky wrote.<\/p>\n

He suggested that Putin set a date for a personal meeting and hold it at a neutral venue. Among the possible options, Zelensky mentioned Switzerland, Turkey, or the countries of the Arab world.<\/p>\n

The president also stated that Ukraine is ready for a complete ceasefire for the duration of the negotiations and supports the exchange of prisoners on the principle of “all for all.”<\/p>\n

Separately, Zelenskyy stressed the need to return Ukrainian civilians and children who were taken away during the war, as well as the need to create effective security guarantees.<\/p>\n

At the end of the letter, the President of Ukraine stated that if Russia does not agree to end the war, Ukraine will continue the fight for its independence.<\/p>\n

“The choice is now yours,” Zelenskyy said to Putin. <\/p>\n
