According to the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, the initiative came from the Ukrainian side.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"417\"> <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Magnus Brunner<\/span><\/span> stated this during a press conference.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"669\"> According to him, EU countries generally support extending the temporary protection mechanism for Ukrainians until 2028. At the same time, possible changes to the program are being considered during the discussions, including the exclusion of men aged 23 to 60.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"730\"> &#8220;And this is what the Ukrainians are asking us for,&#8221; Brunner noted.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"1047\"> The European Commissioner reported that this issue has already been discussed with the countries that have accepted the largest number of Ukrainian refugees.
