US President Donald Trump has said that Cuba is a “failed state” and expressed his desire for the country to be “well-governed” in the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reuters reports<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

Answering journalists’ questions about the situation in Cuba, Trump noted that, in his opinion, the country is actually in a state of collapse.<\/p>\n

“It’s like it’s already fallen apart,” he said.<\/p>\n

The American president also stated that Cuba has significant tourism potential.<\/p>\n

“You could build beautiful resorts there. We’ll do that as soon as we’re done with the war with Iran. I like to do one thing at a time,” Trump said.<\/p>\n

His comments came after the US imposed new sanctions on Cuban officials. At the same time, Trump denied that the restrictions were aimed at hastening the collapse of the state.<\/p>\n

“We just want it to be a well-governed country,” he said, adding that Cuba, he said, “is starving and has no resources.”<\/p>\n
