The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and put into operation the new domestic armored vehicle MAC OWL “Owl”. The vehicle belongs to the MRAP class and is positioned as one of the most protected among Ukrainian armored vehicles.<\/p>\n
This was reported<\/a> by the defense ministry.<\/p>\n The Ministry of Defense noted that the armored vehicle was designed and manufactured in Ukraine, taking into account modern combat experience.<\/p>\n “This vehicle was created taking into account the experience of modern conflicts and Russia’s war against Ukraine, which allowed for an increased level of crew protection,” the report says.<\/p>\n According to the manufacturer, the MAC OWL “Owl” is capable of withstanding a blast of up to 10 kg in TNT equivalent in accordance with the STANAG 4569 standard. The armored vehicle has a V-shaped bottom, reinforced side armor, and special crew protection elements.<\/p>\n It is also possible to install electronic warfare systems to counter FPV drones, which increases the vehicle’s security in modern warfare.<\/p>\n The armored vehicle is equipped with a 450 hp turbodiesel engine, designed for a crew of up to 2 people and a troop of up to 6\u20138 soldiers. Depending on the configuration, its weight ranges from 14.2 to 15 tons.<\/p>\n The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the new MRAP was created as a vehicle with an increased level of crew survivability in conditions of mine and drone threats.<\/p>\n “This is equipment that should provide the maximum level of protection for personnel on the battlefield,” the department added.<\/p>\n As previously reported, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has approved for use in the army a new ground robotic complex “Ivy”<\/a> .
