This week, on June 11, the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off. For the first time in history, it will be held in three countries simultaneously \u2013 the United States, Mexico, and Canada. “Pryamoy” presents to its readers the list of participants and the match schedule for the world’s premier football tournament.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the first time in World Cup history, the number of teams has been expanded from 32 to 48. As a result, instead of the usual 64 matches, 104 matches will be played over 39 days. These matches will be held in 16 cities. In the United States, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York\/New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle will host 78 matches in total. In Mexico, Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey will host 13 matches. Another 13 matches will be held in the Canadian cities of Toronto and Vancouver.<\/p>\n\t

The opening match will take place on June 11th in Mexico City at the legendary Estadio Azteca. Mexico and South Africa will face off. Kickoff is at 10:00 PM Kyiv time.<\/p>\n

The following day, Team Canada will play its first match in Toronto against Bosnia and Herzegovina. This match will also begin at 10:00 PM Kyiv time. At 4:00 AM Kyiv time on June 13, the United States will take over. Team USA will play Paraguay in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Each opening game will be preceded by a separate opening ceremony, which will begin 90 minutes before kickoff. Each program will emphasize the national culture and artists of the host country.<\/p>\n

All teams are divided into 12 groups of 4 teams each.<\/span> The two best teams from each group, as well as the 8 best teams that will take third place, will advance to the next stage (1\/16 finals).<\/span><\/p>\n\t

The Round of 32 (first playoff round) matches are scheduled from June 28 to July 3. The Round of 16 matches will be held from July 4 to 7, and the quarterfinals will be played on July 9, 10, and 11. The semifinals will be played on July 14 and 15. The third-place match will be played on July 18. The World Cup final will be played on Sunday, July 19, at Met-Life Stadium in New York\/New Jersey.<\/p>\n\t
