Explosions were heard in several regions of Russia on the night of Wednesday, June 10. An oil refinery in Samara and a defense industry enterprise in Cheboksary were likely hit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by Russian media.<\/p>\n

A series of explosions in the Samara region have sent thick smoke billowing over the city. According to Russian Telegram channels, the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery, one of the largest refineries in the region, was under attack. <\/p>\n

It is noted that the enterprise is capable of processing about 7 million tons of oil per year and produces dozens of types of petroleum products. This facility has previously been attacked and temporarily suspended operations.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, explosions also occurred in Cheboksary. According to Russian sources, the VNIIR-Progress plant was hit, after which a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise. <\/p>\n

The head of Chuvashia confirmed the attack, but without details about the targets.<\/p>\n

“Infrastructure facilities were attacked. The number of victims and the extent of damage are currently being determined,” he said.<\/p>\n

The VNIIR-Progress plant specializes in the production of electronic systems and components for Russian military equipment. In particular, it manufactures elements of navigation and control systems used in missile weapons, drones, and high-precision munitions.<\/p>\n

According to Russian media, after the previous attacks, additional protective structures and nets were installed at the enterprise over the production buildings. However, this did not prevent the new attack.<\/p>\n

There has been no official confirmation of the extent of the damage from the Russian Ministry of Defense as of this morning.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of Tuesday, May 5, the Ukrainian military launched missile strikes on targets in Russia<\/a> . In particular, a defense plant in Cheboksary came under fire.<\/p>\n

As reported the day before, the General Staff announced the destruction of a number of Russian targets. Among them are an ammunition depot in the Belgorod region and command posts, as well as tanks in the Mariupol area.<\/a><\/p>\n
