In Kyiv, suspicion was declared against an 18-year-old young man who offered military personnel to purchase cars for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but after transferring the deposit, the buyers received nothing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, ads for the sale of non-existent cars were published on the OLX and TikTok platforms throughout 2025.<\/p>\n

The seller reported that the cars were supposed to be delivered from abroad.<\/p>\n

Military personnel who wanted to purchase a vehicle were sent photos of the car and offered to pay a deposit. However, the buyers never received either the car or the money.<\/p>\n

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that four servicemen made a down payment for the car, and another paid its full cost. In total, the five victims transferred almost 600 thousand hryvnias to the suspect’s account.<\/p>\n

The actions of the defendant were qualified as fraud committed on a large scale or through illegal operations using electronic computing equipment (Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n

The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.<\/p>\n

The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying other possible participants in the criminal scheme.<\/p>\n

Previously, “Pryamiy” reported that the number of fraudulent schemes in Ukraine is increasing<\/a> , in which criminals pose as law enforcement officers, in particular representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine<\/span><\/span> and other state structures. The main goal of such schemes is to seize citizens’ funds.<\/p>\n
