The strike on the Progress facility in Cheboksary has reignited questions about the effectiveness of Russia’s air defenses. If Ukrainian Flamingo missiles could travel roughly 1,000 kilometers to reach a large, relatively slow-moving target, critics argue that Moscow’s layered defense network may be increasingly overstretched, forcing commanders to choose between protecting frontline forces and guarding strategic facilities deep inside Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The reason is that Russia’s air defenses are clearly drained. And the reason is precisely our middle strike. We have long and methodically destroyed Russian air defense assets in the occupied territories\u2014radars, individual radars, launchers, and combat control points.<\/p>\n

It is not so easy to restore a badly damaged launcher. And it takes even more time to manufacture a new complex. Anyone who has seen the launcher of an anti-aircraft missile system at least once can see how complicated it is. There are separate training courses marked “secret” that are dedicated to studying the element base of anti-aircraft missile systems – individual components of anti-aircraft missile systems – individual modules of individual components of anti-aircraft missile systems. These products cannot be shuffled like cards in a deck.<\/p>\n\t\t
