The main route by which the Russian army transfers equipment and cargo to occupied Crimea and southern regions of Ukraine has effectively become a “road of death” due to constant attacks by Ukrainian drones. In recent weeks, the volume of transportation along this route has sharply decreased.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Guardian writes<\/a> about this.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This is the R-280 “Novorossiya” highway, which connects Rostov-on-Don with occupied Mariupol, Melitopol, and Crimea. After numerous attacks on the Kerch Bridge, this road has become one of the most important supply routes for Russian troops.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

However, in recent months, Ukrainian units have been increasingly active in hunting Russian convoys using drones. Since the end of May, civilian transport has almost disappeared in some areas, and dozens of burned-out trucks and fuel tankers remain along the route.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Robert Brody, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces , said that in just the last two weeks, military traffic on this route has dropped by 71%.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The effectiveness of such strikes is also recognized by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). They believe that Ukrainian tactics significantly complicate the provision of Russian groups in the south and force the occupiers to look for alternative routes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Ukraine is using new technologies and unmanned systems to attack enemy logistics. In particular, we are talking about American Hornet drones with artificial intelligence, which can independently detect targets, as well as Ukrainian Morrigan aircraft-type drones. In addition, the military is actively using remote mining of supply routes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the publication, the effects of such strikes are already being felt in occupied Crimea, where fuel supply problems are growing. This week, the Russians also temporarily stopped traffic across the Chongar Bridge after drone attacks.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Previously, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov stated that Ukraine’s strategic goal is to create a complete logistical blockade for the Russian army.<\/a> <\/p>\n
