Russia produced its lowest oil output in a year in May, a drop that came amid regular attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil facilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the organization’s estimates, Russian companies produced an average of 9.009 million barrels of oil per day last month, the lowest figure in the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

At the same time, production volumes turned out to be almost 700 thousand barrels less than the quota that Russia has within the framework of the OPEC+ agreements.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg notes that Russian production has been gradually declining since the end of last year. But in recent months, strikes on refineries, export terminals, and pipelines have put additional pressure on the industry.<\/p>\n

In May alone, Ukraine launched at least 31 strikes on Russian oil infrastructure, a record for a month since the start of the full-scale war.<\/p>\n

Oil refining has been hit the hardest. According to analysts at Energy Aspects, Russian refineries may see their lowest output in two decades in June.<\/p>\n

As a result, companies have increasingly started exporting some of the oil that was previously processed domestically. According to Bloomberg, seaborne shipments of Russian oil have increased significantly in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Despite the challenges, Russia remains one of the world’s largest oil producers. However, attacks on oil infrastructure are increasingly hitting the industry and forcing Russian companies to restructure their operations.<\/p>\n

Recall that the SBU’s “Alpha” special forces struck the “Vtorovo” and “Lobkovo” oil pumping stations in the Vladimir region of the Russian Federation<\/a> . The distance to the targets is about 700 km.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Russian occupation army lost the ability to use the Mariupol seaport after a large-scale operation by Ukrainian forces.<\/a><\/p>\n
