The US has released a third of previously classified materials on unidentified anomalous phenomena. The archive includes FBI reports, video recordings of mysterious objects, and CIA documents that were previously not available to the public.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The third part of the materials on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) has been published on the official website of the US Department of War. The documents have become the next stage in the government’s campaign to declassify information about incidents that have not yet received a final explanation.<\/p>\n

In modern American terminology, the term UFO is replaced by the abbreviation UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena). It covers anomalous phenomena in the air, space, and underwater.<\/p>\n

One of the documents was an FBI report from July 2025. It described an incident in the northeastern United States where two witnesses reported seeing a shiny red sphere the size of a basketball. According to the FBI, the object was about 25 feet (7.5 meters) high and about 90 feet (27 meters) away from the witnesses.<\/p>\n

Also among the published materials is a video from 2025 depicting a “plasma-like sphere” that hovered over a pond and changed shape and brightness. Another recording, made in 2024, recorded a glow over a reservoir in the northeastern United States. It is noted that most of such materials were provided by citizens using smartphones to shoot.<\/p>\n

The new collection also includes dozens of CIA archival documents. They show that American intelligence created special groups of scientists to study reports of so-called “flying saucers.”<\/p>\n

The documents state that intelligence agencies expressed concern about the possible impact of mass reports of UFOs on the operation of air defense systems and public safety.<\/p>\n

“These files have been kept secret for too long,” said US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.<\/p>\n

The process of phased declassification of materials about the UAP was initiated by the US Congress in 2022. The second batch of documents was made public in May 2026.<\/p>\n

Previously declassified materials included data on the shooting down of an unknown object over Lake Huron in 2023, a report by an American pilot about the pursuit of luminous objects near a military training ground, and transcripts of the Apollo 17 mission.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Pentagon’s special office AARO emphasizes that most cases remain unsolved due to the limited quality of video materials and the technical capabilities of sensors.<\/p>\n

“There is currently no evidence of extraterrestrial origin for these objects,” AARO said.<\/p>\n

By the way, the US Department of Defense has released 162 declassified files related to UFO sightings and unidentified anomalous phenomena over the past almost 80 years.<\/a> The documents were released after US President Donald Trump’s executive order on maximum transparency regarding materials on UFOs and extraterrestrial life.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, in the US, the Department of Defense and the FBI released more than 200 previously secret or restricted documents and videos about unidentified aerial phenomena.<\/a> The materials contain testimonies from military personnel, astronauts and civilians, but American authorities claim that there is no evidence of extraterrestrial origin of the objects.<\/p>\n
