The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the development of artificial intelligence systems could radically change the nature of modern warfare. The department predicts the emergence of unified AI networks that will speed up decision-making on the battlefield and create a new format of confrontation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Danylo Tsvok, head of the Artificial Intelligence Center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said that artificial intelligence is already being actively used in the war against Russian aggression. According to him, the technologies are used to control drones, plan combat operations, and analyze data on Russian missile attacks.<\/p>\n

The Defense Ministry’s Artificial Intelligence Center was established in March 2026 as part of a drive to implement data-driven and AI-driven solutions. Minister of Digital Transformation and Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov advocates for the active use of such technologies in the defense sector.<\/p>\n

According to Danylo Tsvok, in the future, Ukrainian artificial intelligence systems can be combined into a single battlefield management network. He believes that within the next 3-5 years, if the war continues, a kind of “war of operating systems” may arise between Ukraine and Russia.<\/p>\n

“Artificial intelligence will form a new paradigm of war. It is already actively doing so,” said Danylo Zvok.<\/p>\n

According to him, the side that has more data and is able to analyze it more effectively will have the advantage.<\/p>\n

“A system that has more data and understands this data better offers solutions – such a system will have an advantage over another,” said Danylo Zvok.<\/p>\n

The Defense Ministry says the goal is to create a single system that will combine weapons and information resources into a coordinated network. This should speed up the analysis of data from the front line, which is about 1,200 kilometers long, and help commanders receive faster recommendations for decision-making.<\/p>\n

Danylo Zvok also reported that the ministry is developing a recruitment and personnel management system based on artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

At the same time, he emphasized that currently Ukraine adheres to the principle of mandatory human participation in making combat decisions. However, in the future, autonomous systems may work faster than humans.<\/p>\n

“Then the question arises: how do we manage to make decisions that autonomous systems suggest?” said Danylo Zvok.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Ukraine is preparing to deploy a new air defense system based on artificial intelligence<\/a> , which should strengthen the protection of cities from Russian attacks.<\/p>\n
