Ukraine has been granted the opportunity to attract emergency support from the European Union to respond to large-scale cyberattacks. The EU Council approved Ukraine’s inclusion in the bloc’s Cybersecurity Reserve.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> “European Truth” with reference to the European Commission.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Cybersecurity Pool is managed by the EU Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA). In the event of serious or large-scale cyber incidents, it allows for the involvement of trusted private service providers to respond quickly and mitigate the consequences of attacks.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The European Commission notes that the decision to include Ukraine is part of a broader EU strategy to strengthen the cyber resilience of both member states and the bloc’s partners. This includes increasing preparedness for cyber threats, rapid response to incidents, and sharing experience between countries.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, Genna Virkkunen, emphasized that Ukraine’s accession to the Reserve strengthens Europe’s common security.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“By accepting Ukraine into the EU Cybersecurity Pool, we strengthen our common defense and reaffirm the principle of solidarity that underpins Europe’s digital future. At a time when cyberattacks pose a constant threat, our unity is our greatest asset,” she said.<\/p>\n

Moldova has already joined the EU Cybersecurity Reserve. The relevant decision was adopted in 2024 within the framework of the European Union Cyber Solidarity Act. <\/p>\n
