The European Solidarity faction demands that the Government report on where the funds from the Reserve Fund, which were exhausted in the first quarter of this year, were spent.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The co-chair of the faction, Iryna Gerashchenko, wrote<\/a> about this on social networks.<\/p>\n

“The time has come to deal with the use of the funds of the Reserve Fund of the State Budget of Ukraine in 2026. According to official information, in 3 months of this year the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine spent 78% of the funds provided for in the Reserve Fund of the State Budget. As of mid-June, the Government had adopted at least 10 orders on the allocation of funds from the Reserve Fund of the State Budget. And the primary Reserve Fund, the initial volume of which was UAH 49.42 billion, was exhausted by more than 96%,” Gerashchenko reminded.<\/p>\n

“At the same time, the Government often managed the Reserve Fund as its own pocket, not adhering to the principles of transparency, spending on frankly harmful and populist programs, in particular, cashback, e-tank, etc. As part of parliamentary control, European Solidarity appealed to the Government with a request to provide the Verkhovna Rada with complete information, on which almost 50 billion UAH was spent,” the MP writes.<\/p>\n

“The Cabinet of Ministers has never reported on the funds used from the Reserve Fund, and if this is not put in order, they will continue to take money from the Ministry of Defense, from the “Weapons Procurement” article, as if from their own pockets, and will dispose of it at their own discretion. And this is unacceptable. Therefore, we sent letters to the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada to convene a plenary session tomorrow and hear the Government on the use of the Reserve Fund and return the money for the purchase of missiles for air defense,” Gerashchenko emphasizes.<\/p>\n

As is known, the European Solidarity faction demands that UAH 40 billion be returned to the Defense Ministry’s budget for the purchase of weapons<\/a> , which were withdrawn to the Reserve Fund, and that the fund’s money be spent exclusively on the reconstruction of destroyed facilities, assistance to victims, and elimination of the consequences of Russian aggression. The Reserve Fund is used by the Government in a manual mode, and funds from it are spent uncontrollably on populist initiatives of the authorities.<\/p>\n
