Ukrainian company SkyFall has introduced a new P1-Sun Long drone-interceptor with artificial intelligence. The device is capable of independently finding air targets, capturing them and destroying them, leaving the operator only in control of the process.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the publication, the drone’s artificial intelligence system was trained on more than 10,000 videos of real combat interceptions of Russian strike drones.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Currently, the P1-Sun Long can detect targets at a distance of up to 800 meters. After that, the system independently captures the object, tracks it, and completes the attack.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

During the demonstration of the drone’s operation, the operator simply lifted it into the air and brought it into the search area. The target was first noticed by the artificial intelligence system, which marked it on the screen. After confirmation by the operator, the drone continued the pursuit on its own.<\/p>\n

SkyFall says that this technology allows one operator to control multiple interceptors simultaneously instead of having to control each one manually.<\/p>\n

The publication notes that the new system was created primarily to combat Russian “Shaheds”, which Russia launches every night over Ukrainian cities.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

However, the drone’s capabilities are not limited to aerial targets. As shown during the demonstration, the system can also track objects on the ground – from individual soldiers to moving vehicles.<\/p>\n

The New York Times notes that the development of such technologies is bringing the emergence of increasingly autonomous combat systems closer. At the same time, Ukrainian developers assure that the final decision on the use of weapons still remains with the person.<\/p>\n

According to SkyFall representatives, the company is already capable of producing up to 50,000 such interceptors per month. The main problem now is not production, but training a sufficient number of operators who work on duty around the clock.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukrainian gunsmiths are completing preparations for flight tests of the new FP-9 ballistic missile<\/a> , capable of hitting strategic targets at long distances. In parallel, work is underway on a new anti-ballistic shield.<\/p>\n

By the way, recently the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the first guided aviation bomb has been created in Ukraine<\/a> , which has passed tests and is ready for combat use. The development is already being used within the experimental batch and is undergoing combat testing.<\/p>\n
