G7 leaders confirmed their intention to strengthen military and economic support for Ukraine. Among the priorities are: increasing supplies of air defense systems, long-range weapons, and assistance in the development of Ukrainian defense production.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated<\/a> in a joint statement by the leaders of the G7 countries.<\/p>\n

In the document, the G7 countries emphasized that they continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and highly praised the resilience of the Ukrainian people and the successes of the Defense Forces at the front.<\/p>\n

“We, the G7 leaders, remain united in our unwavering support for Ukraine in defending its freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” the statement said.<\/p>\n

The leaders of the states also noted positive changes on the battlefield and expressed their readiness to help Ukraine build on this success.<\/p>\n

“We commend Ukraine for its resilience and progress on the battlefield in recent months and emphasize that new momentum has now emerged,” the G7 participants noted.<\/p>\n

To support the Ukrainian army, the G7 countries plan to increase the supply of air defense systems, additional systems, and interceptor missiles. The allies also intend to increase the transfer of long-range capabilities to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

In addition, the G7 does not rule out granting Ukraine special licenses that would allow it to increase the production of foreign weapons directly at Ukrainian enterprises.<\/p>\n

The statement paid special attention to preparations for the heating season. The leaders of the countries assured that they would continue to support Ukraine’s energy sustainability.<\/p>\n

“We agree to provide further support to help the country get through the coming winter,” the document emphasized.<\/p>\n

The G7 countries have also announced increased economic pressure on Russia. In particular, they are talking about new restrictions on the oil and gas sectors, which remain one of the main sources of financing for the Russian military machine.<\/p>\n

“We commit to increasing pressure on the Russian military economy. In this context, we will strengthen our sanctions, in particular on the oil and gas sectors,” the G7 leaders said.<\/p>\n

The G7 believes that the current international situation creates favorable conditions for introducing additional sanctions against the Kremlin.<\/p>\n

Recall that Ukraine continues to develop its own ballistic weapons<\/a> , which in the future will be able to strike at Russian territory and significantly influence the course of the war.<\/p>\n

As reported the day before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that during the G7 summit, partners confirmed their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in the areas of security, energy, and the restoration of facilities damaged as a result of Russian aggression.<\/a><\/p>\n
