On Thursday, June 18, NATO’s defense ministers will meet at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The meeting will be a key step in the preparations for the upcoming NATO Leaders’ Summit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> on the Alliance website.<\/p>\n

The meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The defense ministers will meet in the Nuclear Planning Group format and will also participate in a meeting of the North Atlantic Council.<\/p>\n

During the talks, the Allies will discuss defense and security issues, as well as next steps ahead of the meeting of NATO heads of state and government.<\/p>\n

Before the meeting, representatives of the Alliance countries will speak to journalists. After the talks, Mark Rutte will hold a press conference.<\/p>\n

This meeting will be the final preparatory stage before the NATO summit, which will be held on July 7-8 in Ankara.<\/p>\n

In addition to the meeting of defense ministers, a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine in the “Ramstein” format will also be held at the Alliance headquarters on June 18.<\/p>\n

At it, the allies will discuss further military support for Ukraine and the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.<\/p>\n

As reported, the leaders of the G7 countries confirmed their intention to strengthen military and economic support for Ukraine<\/a> . Among the priorities: increasing supplies of air defense systems, long-range weapons, and assistance in the development of Ukrainian defense production.<\/p>\n
