The Verkhovna Rada will convene for an unscheduled meeting this week at the request of “European Solidarity”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced on social media by the co-chair of the faction, Artur Gerasimov.<\/p>\n

“The day before, we sent letters to the leadership of the parliament, leaders of factions and groups regarding holding an urgent meeting, at which we should return to the Ministry of Defense 40 billion hryvnias, which were actually stolen from the army last week due to budget fraud. These funds should be used, among other things, to strengthen air defense, protect the civilian population and critical infrastructure, and not squandered on populist cashbacks, e-tanks and meaningless kilometers by rail,” the MP reminded.<\/p>\n

The European Solidarity faction also demands that the Government report on where the funds from the Reserve Fund, which were exhausted in the first quarter of this year, were spent<\/a> .<\/p>\n

As is known, the European Solidarity faction demands that UAH 40 billion be returned to the Defense Ministry’s budget for the purchase of weapons<\/a> , which were withdrawn to the Reserve Fund, and that the fund’s money be spent exclusively on the reconstruction of destroyed facilities, assistance to victims, and elimination of the consequences of Russian aggression. The Reserve Fund is used by the Government in a manual mode, and funds from it are spent uncontrollably on populist initiatives of the authorities.<\/p>\n
