During the investigation of possible embezzlement during the construction of fortifications, NABU detectives uncovered a possible money laundering scheme involving dozens of Ukrainian and foreign companies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

New details of the case were reported by<\/a> MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.<\/p>\n

According to him, it all started with criminal proceedings regarding possible abuses during the construction of fortifications in the Donetsk region. In October 2025, during searches in one of the offices in Kyiv, law enforcement officers seized large amounts of cash and documents, which, according to the investigation, may be related to the financial transactions of a number of companies.<\/p>\n

Among the items found were over 278 thousand dollars, over 3.3 million hryvnias, as well as documents, seals, and registration data of dozens of Ukrainian and foreign companies.<\/p>\n

After analyzing the seized materials, detectives established the movement of funds through a network of companies during 2024\u20132026.<\/p>\n

“Subsequently, such funds were transferred between the accounts of the specified enterprises and accumulated in separate accounts, after which they were converted into currency and withdrawn to the accounts of non-resident firms,” Zheleznyak said.<\/p>\n

According to him, the payments were made out as payment for goods, security services, consultations, or software development, but the actual purpose of these transactions raises questions for the investigation.<\/p>\n

The People’s Deputy also drew attention to the fact that among the defendants in the case there are companies with names similar to well-known international IT brands.<\/p>\n

“That’s why they named them that way, so that you wouldn’t have any doubts. Like, Luxoft provides something there, okay, well, it seems like it’s OK,” he noted.<\/p>\n

According to the deputy, some of the companies whose documents were seized during the searches are registered in Cyprus, the Czech Republic, and the British Virgin Islands \u2014 jurisdictions that are often used to hide the ultimate owners of businesses.<\/p>\n

“And yes, you are now reading about a clean envelope-center,” Zheleznyak said.<\/p>\n

He also noted that, according to the investigation, the scheme continued to operate after the change in the leadership of the State Financial Monitoring Service. However, no official suspicions have been announced against the agency’s leadership in this case.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the above circumstances are part of the pre-trial investigation, and the final conclusions regarding the involvement of specific individuals must be established by law enforcement agencies and the court.<\/p>\n

We remind you that NABU conducted searches at all those involved in the case of embezzlement of budget funds for the construction of fortifications in the Poltava Autonomous Okrug.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, NABU continues its pre-trial investigation into the case of possible embezzlement of funds during the construction of fortifications in the Donetsk region, in which the head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, Philip Pronin, appears.<\/a><\/p>\n
