Russian propaganda has begun spreading a new fake about an attack on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, which occurred on June 15. For this, the occupiers used images generated by artificial intelligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Central Intelligence Agency, footage is being circulated online showing photographers allegedly setting up professional equipment near the Lavra before the shelling, and filming the fire after the strike. Russian propaganda presents this as “proof” that the damage to the shrine was allegedly a pre-planned “Ukrainian provocation.”<\/p>\n

The Center emphasized that these images are not real. Verification by special services showed that they were created using artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

The CPD notes that in this way the Kremlin is trying to divert attention from its own attack on Kyiv, during which the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was damaged. Since it is impossible to hide the fact of damage to the shrine, Russian propaganda is trying to convince the audience that the shelling was supposedly a “staged attack.”<\/p>\n

The Center emphasized that such informational attacks are part of a large-scale disinformation campaign designed to hide Russia’s responsibility for the attack on Ukraine’s cultural and religious heritage.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of June 15, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Kyiv<\/a> using ballistic missiles and drones. The shelling killed 4 people and injured at least 23 people, including a child.<\/p>\n
