The G7 countries, together with the United States, have agreed to provide Ukraine with licenses that will allow Ukrainian enterprises to produce not only air defense systems, but also long-range weapons.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated<\/a> in the joint statement of the G7 leaders, published following the summit in France, Le Parisien reports<\/a> .<\/p>\n

The summit participants announced their intention to expand arms production in Ukraine under licenses from Western companies. According to a diplomatic source on the sidelines of the summit, this includes not only air defense systems, but also long-range weapons, including long-range missiles.<\/p>\n

In addition, the G7 countries confirmed their readiness to increase supplies to Ukraine of air defense systems, interceptor missiles, long-range weapons, and other weapons necessary to protect against Russian aggression.<\/p>\n

Separately, the statement emphasized that Ukraine will receive licenses to expand its own defense production.<\/p>\n

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz noted that American companies will be able to transfer relevant licenses to European manufacturers.<\/p>\n

According to him, the current production capacity is not enough to meet Ukraine’s needs, so the licensing mechanism will allow for a faster increase in the production of the necessary weapons. Both European and Ukrainian enterprises are planned to be involved in this process.<\/p>\n

Recall that Ukraine continues to develop its own ballistic weapons<\/a> , which in the future will be able to strike at Russian territory and significantly influence the course of the war.<\/p>\n

As reported the day before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that during the G7 summit, partners confirmed their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in the areas of security, energy, and the restoration of facilities damaged as a result of Russian aggression.<\/a><\/p>\n
