Emergency diesel generators automatically provided backup power to support nuclear safety systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/iaeaorg\/status\/2068300772329070708\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">was reported by<\/a> the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).<\/p>\n<p> The IAEA noted that this is the 20th loss of external power supply to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant during the military conflict.<\/p>\n<p> According to the agency, emergency diesel generators automatically started to provide backup power to the reactor core cooling systems and other critical nuclear safety functions.<\/p>\n<p> The cause of the latest outage was a problem with internal power lines, which resulted in the loss of the only available external power line of the Ferrosplavna-1 ZNPP with a voltage of 330 kilovolts.<\/p>\n<p> The IAEA also reported that repairs to the main 750-kilovolt Dniprovska power transmission line, which has been out of service for the past 3 months, are continuing in accordance with a local ceasefire brokered by the agency, under the supervision of its teams on both sides of the Dnipro River.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;The latest loss of external power supply underscores the vital importance of strengthening the ZNPP&#8217;s connection to the power grid as part of efforts to prevent a nuclear accident,&#8221; said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.<\/p>\n<p> We will remind you that on the evening of June 10 <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/ukrenerho-cherez-rosiyskyy-obstril-znestrumlena-vysokovoltna-liniia-zhyvlennia-zaes\/\">, during Russian shelling, the external power supply line of the Zaporizhzhia NPP was disconnected.<\/a><\/p>\n<p> Earlier, on the morning of June 4, <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/mahate-povidomylo-pro-ataku-na-zaporizku-tes-ta-ryzyky-dlia-atomnoi-stantsii\/\">the Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant came under heavy shelling<\/a> , which could jeopardize the power supply to the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.<\/p>\n<p> Also follow <strong>\u201cPryamim\u201d<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pryamiy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Facebook<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/prm_ua\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">X<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/+rtV4dxYu2_cyNjVi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Telegram<\/a> , and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/pryamiy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today, June 20, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant lost external power supply.
