The office of Polish President Karol Nawrocki explained why the Order of the White Eagle, which was revoked from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, still remains with Benito Mussolini, Catherine II, and Gerhard Schroeder. They stated that Poland does not revoke awards posthumously, and they see no reason to deprive Schroeder of the award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> Agnieszka J\u0119dzzak, Minister of the Office of the President of Poland.<\/p>\n

J\u0119dz\u0105k said that Poland does not revoke the Order of the White Eagle posthumously, so the awards of Benito Mussolini and Catherine II remain valid.<\/p>\n

“The first two have long since died, and Poland does not revoke the order posthumously. And the former German Chancellor has never so openly insulted the Polish nation as the president of Ukraine did, although his work for Putin’s Russia truly deserves condemnation as harmful to Poland and Europe,” said Agnieszka J\u0119dzzak.<\/p>\n

She also noted that during Gerhard Schroeder’s tenure as Chancellor of Germany, no events occurred that, in her words, could be compared to the current claims against the Ukrainian side.<\/p>\n

“During Schr\u00f6der’s tenure in office, no monuments to Hitler or Himmler were erected in Germany, and no Bundeswehr unit was named after the ‘SS heroes,'” the official added.<\/p>\n

Yenjak also stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was not concerned that these individuals had the Order of the White Eagle when he himself received the award.<\/p>\n

“And he adds insult to injury by returning it through the postal service,” she said.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the decision to revoke the award is due to the fact that, in the opinion of the Polish side, the President of Ukraine offended the Polish people.<\/p>\n

“The root of the issue is that the Ukrainian leader deliberately offended people who over the past 4 years have shown themselves to be Ukraine’s best friends. It is not appropriate to honor the murderers of the ancestors of those who helped you when it was a matter of life and death,” Agnieszka J\u0119dzhak emphasized.<\/p>\n

She added that Polish President Karol Nawrocki “withdrawn the award, but did not withdraw the outstretched hand.”<\/p>\n

“We support Ukraine, but we will not allow ourselves to be insulted,” Agnieszka J\u0119dzhak concluded.<\/p>\n
