The arrest occurred while entering Moldova.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurointegration.com.ua\/news\/2026\/06\/23\/7240248\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">is reported by<\/a> &#8220;European Truth&#8221; with reference to the Information and Security Service of Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>It is known that the man was detained based on information received by the Information and Security Service under the leadership of the Prosecutor&#8217;s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Particularly Important Cases of Moldova (PCCOCS).<\/p>\n<p>A Russian citizen was detained for collecting information about the Transnistrian region, in particular about the security zone.<\/p>\n<p>At the request of the prosecutor&#8217;s office, he was placed in custody for 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>The man tried to enter Moldova under the guise of a tourist, stating that he intended to visit a monastery.<\/p>\n<p>However, the final destination of his trip was the left bank region of the Dniester.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of such a visit was to collect data for further storage or use to the detriment of the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, state security, or defense capability of Moldova, the special service noted.<\/p>\n<p>The department emphasized that this foreign citizen had already been in Moldova between September 2017 and September 2019. During this time, he carried out activities directed against the security, independence, and territorial integrity of Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>That is why the special services drew attention to the fact that during that period he was using a diplomatic passport issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the requirements of the Vienna Convention, he did not undergo the accreditation procedure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is currently ongoing. According to the law, this person is presumed innocent.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, &#8220;Pryamiy&#8221; reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/ukraintsiv-vykraly-u-vrotslavi-ta-trymaly-v-pidvali-zarady-hroshey\/\">two 20-year-old Ukrainians were kidnapped in the Polish city of Wroclaw<\/a> . They were held in a basement, forced to hand over access to bank accounts and demanded to look for money from acquaintances.
