In their opinion, the peninsula’s supply of fuel and essential goods may rapidly deteriorate due to changes in logistics.

This was reported by Andriy Klymenko, head of the Monitoring Group of the “Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies”, editor-in-chief of the BlackSeaNews portal.

According to experts, there are currently about 3.2-3.3 million people in the occupied Crimea. Of these, about 2 million are residents of the peninsula who lived there before the occupation and their children, about 1 million are Russian citizens who moved there after the occupation, and another 150-200 thousand are tourists from Russia. In addition, there are several tens of thousands of Russian military and intelligence officers on the peninsula.

Experts predict that Crimea’s supply of fuel and essential goods will deteriorate as a result of the peninsula’s gradual transformation into an isolated territory within the framework of Ukraine’s military strategy.

According to analysts, Russian President Vladimir Putin will not evacuate the military or civilian population from Crimea, as this, in their opinion, would have serious political consequences for him.

At the same time, it is noted that the Russian leadership may take a number of steps, including:

calls to “turn Crimea into an impregnable fortress”;

drawing analogies with the “blockade of Leningrad”;

introduction of food cards;

increased propaganda about the “heroic breakthrough of the blockade” for the delivery of products;

spreading statements about an alleged “humanitarian catastrophe” and inviting various “human rights activists” to the peninsula.

According to Klymenko, we can also expect obstacles from Russia for the independent evacuation of civilians via the Crimean Bridge. At the same time, according to experts, Russia will be forced to use the bridge to transport heavy tanker trucks, trains with fuel, goods, and ammunition.

In conclusion, Klymenko noted that Ukraine should be prepared for such a possible scenario.

By the way, a regional state of emergency has been introduced in temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol due to problems with electricity supply.

It was previously reported that on the night of June 26, drones attacked several facilities in Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea .
