It is estimated that the program would initially reach almost 50,000 people and cost the German budget around EUR 100 million in the first year.<\/p>\n<p>As journalists note, the new strategy of Donald Tusk&#8217;s government significantly differed from the position of the previous Polish government, which demanded reparations of 1.3 trillion euros from Berlin. Instead, the current proposal focused exclusively on targeted support for living victims of Nazi persecution.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the German federal government has officially refused Poland this initiative for the first time.
